Advertising and affiliates

Nothing on this site is paid for. This page says so while that is still true, and sets out the rules that stay fixed once money is involved.

Where Willitboard stands today

Nothing on this site is paid for. There is no advertising, there are no affiliate links, there is no sponsorship and there is no paid placement. No operator has paid to appear here, to be left out, or to be described in a particular way. Nobody has offered, and if anybody did, the answer would be no.

We are writing this page before there is anything to disclose, because the useful time to commit to how you will behave about money is while none is involved.

The plan, stated plainly

Willitboard is free and intended to stay free. The intention is to pay for it with advertising and with affiliate links to luggage — the kind of commission where, if you discover your bag doesn't fit and you buy one that does, we earn a small amount at no extra cost to you.

None of that exists yet. When it does, this page will name every programme we are in, every kind of link that earns us money, and how each one is labelled where you meet it — before the first one goes live, not after. A disclosure that arrives after the money does is not a disclosure.

The rules that don't move

These apply now and will keep applying when there is money involved. They are the whole reason this site is worth using.

What this costs you

Nothing. If affiliate links arrive, buying through one costs you the same as buying directly; the commission comes out of the retailer's margin. You are never required to use one, and the bag checker will never be gated behind anything.

Telling us we got it wrong

If anything on this site ever reads like it was written for a sponsor rather than for you, that is a bug and we want to hear about it: hello@willitboard.com. The same address works for reporting a limit that no longer matches the operator's page — those reports are the most useful mail we can get.
